Description

Extruding Faces, Surface Edges, or Regions generates Solids, while extruding Curves produces Sheets. Specify distance, set extrusion angle, and define wall thickness. Boolean options available.

Basic Usage

  1. Press E.

  2. Select the Faces, Surface Edges, Regions, or Curves to extrude.

  3. Move the yellow dot to specify the distance.

  4. Set the options in the Command Dialog and Keyboard Shortcuts.

    • Command Dialog
      • Select target bodies: Shift + Q Slice, Q Union, W Difference, Shift + E Intersect, B New Body, T Keep Tools
        • These boolean options work the same as the Boolean command. Refer to the Boolean command for details.
      • Distance: Specify the extrusion distance and its opposite direction distance.
      • Degrees: Specify the extrusion angle.
      • Thickness: Specify the wall thickness.
      • Individual: Switches the extrusion direction from Direct to Individual, extruding each selected face along its own surface normal.
      • Keep tools: Keeps the tool bodies intact after a boolean operation.
    • Keyboard Shortcuts
      • F Freestyle: Specify the starting point and the endpoint, determining the direction and distance of Extrude.
      • V Pivot: Specify the position of the Gizmo.
      • D Distance 1: Specify the distance by moving the cursor.
      • A Angle 1: Specify the angle of extrusion by moving the cursor.
      • Shift + T Thickness: Specify the wall thickness by moving the cursor.
      • S Lock distances: Extrude with equal distance on both sides.
      • Ctrl Modify selection: Adds or removes objects from the current selection relative to the active selection mode.
      • I Individual: Toggles the extrude direction between Direct and Individual. Direct extrudes all selected objects in a single unified direction, while Individual extrudes each object along its own surface normal.
  5. Confirm with OK in the Command Dialog or right-click.
